ASDAN Courses.

Gain valuable experience and skills while volunteering with us.
As a non-profit organisation we’re reliant on our volunteers to help us out. If you’d like to give a little back and help others we can offer ASDAN short courses to¬†support you.

What is an ASDAN Personal Finance Course?

Aimed at increasing young people’s financial awareness and economic wellbeing, the Personal Finance Short Course accredits from 10 to 60 hours of learning activity.

The flexibility of ASDAN’s Short Courses means they can be carried out in a variety of settings, over a time period to suit the individual. Sample information from the course book can be found here.

The Personal Finance Short Course features five modules, covering:

  • Managing finances
  • Income and expenditure
  • Planning for the future
  • Making financial choices
  • International issues

Admin

Admin experience can be gained by using our filing system and web based databases.

Each client we have is stored in our secure online database. We have two different systems, one is for our own purpose and the other is for reporting to the Big Lottery Fund.

Face to Face

We have one to one budgeting sessions where we’ll go over somebody’s budget and provide the client with any information they require.

Knowledge of financial subjects can be picked up pretty quickly and if you’re ever stuck there’s lots of people to ask.

If you’re good with people and want to make a difference with peoples lives this is perfect for you.

Media

We also need help with our media, it’s a pretty wide area!

If you’re into graphic design, website design, blogging, writing, video editing or any other skills we can find a way to utilise them and help you gain experience needed for further employment.

Anything else I should know?

We’re open 9-5 most days and are based in Bilston.

Our work may take us across the city and all travel expenses are paid for.

You’ll learn a lot more at our inductions so please come along and learn more about volunteering
